API key…. hmm dont even know what to say!

  • So i had to reinstall the entire admin side of my blog by manually uploading portions of the admin from the stock wordpress files. I did this because there was something really wrong with my admin and this was teh ONLY fix

    Anyways.. upon doing thing, I lost the API settings for wordpress.com stats (but Akismet seems to work fine)

    So when I click on GET YOUR KEY HERE it brings me to page that is REALLY screwy. I know it SHOULD bring you to your wordpress.com account.

    here is a screen show of what i can see:

    You can see that the page is screwed up, the login fields are just out of sight but there is no scroller. its really REALLY weird.

    Anyways, the MAIN issue here is that I have a few wordpress.com accounts, and the ones that I know of, I have logged in and tried to use those API keys from there and it says that they are wrong.

    It says, in my admin, at the top right “Howdy, bscphoto” so i assumed i signed up with the name bscphoto, but when i try the “forgot password” it says that it does not exist.

    IM SO CONFUSED!!!!

    I believe they are doing some work on the site as is evident by the WordPress Profile page. I can’t be certain of this though. You may get better answers from the WordPress.com forums.

    Ahh.. i guess maybe i SHOULD have posted there.. but i have been having NOTHING but issues.. that hack got me!! and i’m finally back up and running, but it was BAD..thank god to a host that does automatic weekly backups AND has awesome phone support
