    Hello,

We have Scottsburg, VA as a location in our database.
    https://www.weather-atlas.com/en/virginia-usa/scottsburg

The basic shortcode is [shortcode-weather-atlas city_selector=2390340]

Read more on styling the shortcode here:

You can use Clover, VA [2389818] if suites more your needs

I appreciate the help, but I still can’t get the location drop down to work. When I use the short code, I can’t customize what information is being displayed.

    Hello,

    – Use developer tools in your browser to check for errors (why javascript does not function) when you are in site’s WP’s Admin panel, we can not assist you from the front panel.

    – the shortcode can be styled, however, you have to manually set options – read FAQ and links in the previous post.

I have the same problem though I am utilising the plugin as a custom widget. Typing a location when I’m logged in and editing the widget doesn’t work. If I’m on the page in another browser it defaults to New York though the drop down here does work and the user can select their city when they’re typing. How can I change the default location?

    Hello @matsp,

if the dropdown works, if you are a user, then the issue is presumably with .js when you are in the Admin panel. (The same dropdown system is used for users and admins)

Use developer tools in your browser to check for errors (why javascript does not function) when you are in site’s WP’s Admin panel, we can not assist you from the front panel.

Can you elaborate on “utilizing the plugin as a custom widget”?
Are you using some WordPress Page Builder like Elementor?

Hi, my sincere thanks for your reply.

I have put the Weather Atlas in a static page using the option “WordPress Custom Widget” and scrolling through the dropdown to select weather atlas.

I’m using Visual Composer to edit the theme and build the pages.

I have numerous errors listed in the console, tbh it’s all a bit beyond my understanding but here is a screenshot of the console if anyone can help me make any sense of it.

    Hello,

The errors shown in the console are (probably) not related to the drop-down issue, as far as we can tell.

But again “if the dropdown works, if you are a user, then the issue is presumably with .js when you are in the Admin panel. (The same dropdown system is used for users and admins)”

The widget has a drop-down issue when one is creating a page using Elementor (in your case the Visual Composer).
Please try the usual way of deploying the widget in a footer through the Admin panel, and let us know if the issue has been solved.

The preferred way of implementing the widget on a static page is using a shortcode.

On both ways please read the widget’s FAQ
