• Hello, everyone! Hope you’re doing ok.

I’m currently building my first site in wordpress. It’s my first time so I’m kind of lost. My main question right now is: There’s no way I could add a .com or a .org to my url unless I contract a hosting package?

I have seen some, but they offer me something I already have that’s my database, the website (that’s under contruction) and some functions I’m adding pace by pace while I learn them.

Can you please explain me a little bit how does that works? I have no choice but to hire them so my website can have a domain?

I’m looking forward for your replies, thank you very much for your attention.

    Regards.

    Hi there,

All you need to do is purchase a domain from a provider that offers domains (there are hundreds). Once this domain is purchased from the provider, then all you need to do is point the record to the temporary domain you have set up for your current WordPress site. There are several documentations online on how to point a new domain to a website, but once it’s properly propagated please note it may take up to 48 hours for the domain to fully transfer to the site.

    Thanks!
    Tyler
