I am exporting my products from one site to another. Everything works fine with the exception of the first attribute in each variation. It is set to “any” after the import, while all the other attributes hold their values. So I find myself having to set the first attribute to each variation on hundreds of products. Any ideas as to why this first attribute is not holding it’s setting when export/import?

    Hi @disciplepress,

I have a few questions about the overall setup and the import/export process:

    1. Are you using the built-in product importer to create the CSV file and import it on a new site?
    2. The products that you are exporting – how were they originally created?
    3. When the CSV file is exported, if you locate the column for the attribute that is presenting this behavior, what does it have in there? Could we get a screenshot of the data in that attribute column?
    4. If you create a brand new variable product on your site, manually; export it and then import it again, does the same behavior happen?

We haven’t heard back from you in a while, so I’m going to mark this as resolved – if you have any further questions, you can start a new thread.
