We’re sorry that you are experiencing problems that might be caused by our plugin! I have not seen a report of this issue and was unable to reproduce in a test environment.

Just to be sure, we would like to rule out any plugin or theme conflicts that may occur. The fastest way to do this is to?deactivate all non-Yoast plugins and switch to a standard theme?like?Twenty Nineteen.?

Test this on your development or staging site, if you have one. If not, we recommend using the?Health Check & Troubleshooting?plugin. This plugin allows you to run a conflict check?without affecting normal visitors to your site.

As we can imagine that you’re unfamiliar with checking for conflicts, we’d like to point you to a step-by-step guide that will walk you through the process:?How to check for plugin conflicts.

I had the same issue and finally found what was causing the problem with variables, as well as slug and preview of the content in readability preview.

Since snippet preview for the featured image was added, your preview won’t work without adding a featured image… Once I added the image, everything worked back great again for that page.

It would be great if the Yoast team could look into that and remove the necessity of featured images for a plugin to work correctly.

Thank you for providing more information. Here’s what I see in a default environment with only Yoast SEO active on the Twenty Nineteen theme. This is a new post with an empty title field. I do not see an ‘undefined’.

Please provide more information on how to reproduce the issue. Do I need a certain plugin installed? A specific theme? Something else?

I have the same problem. Page titles gone! after the update.

I isolated all the plugins one by one and discovered that the Yoast Seo update from 12.2 to 12.4 causes the problem.

Child theme Ocean WP – Elementor PRO – SG Optimizer – etc

@alessandromontini Did you also experienced the snippet variable displaying as ‘undefined’?

Also, did this occur with only the Yoast SEO plugin and a default theme active? If not, what is required to reproduce the issue?

Thanks on advice for support. This is just the problem: since the preview of the snippet for the foreground image has been added, your preview will not work without adding an image in the foreground … Once the image is added, everything worked for that page. Then, a few tweaks to the theme and everything is in place again
