• The built-in behavior of WP is to notify the author of the post upon receiving new comments. However for me, it only seems to be working for certain posts. I found this odd as posts that were published yesterday are not sending out notifications yet a test post I created today is sending them out no problem.

I have no idea where to start looking for a solution as the both the authors email address and the address under General -> Settings are both valid.

Thanks in advance for any help.

  • I am having similar issues. Posts that I (as admin) have made do not get notification of comments, but rather I get notification to Approve them. Other blog authors get notifications that comments are posted but not that they can Approve them (even if they are set to Admin). And sometimes, the notifications just don’t come at all.

I am having the same issue also. I’m further frustrated with the lack of functionality to input multiple admin notification email addresses. I’ve tried setting up a gmail account with three separate filters so that whenever an email is received by the gmail account it forwards on to three admin people. Because the blog only occasionally sends out notifications it’s difficult to test.
