Trackback/Pingback don’t work

  • Trackbacks and pingbacks haven’t worked at https://www.web-ho.com/blog/ since one of the previous upgrades (last August). I’m now running 1.2.1 and testing 1.2.2, and in both cases neither trackbacks nor pingbacks have any effect.
    use_trackback and use_pingback are set to 1, which should enable them. Is there anything else? Something to uncomment in one of the scripts maybe?

    Do you have an xmlrpc.php file in your blog directory? If not, grab one from a fresh v1.2.2 download and upload the file.

    There was no xmlrpc.php in the 1.2.1 installation, indeed, but that does not seem to be enough. I added it from 1.2.2 but it still makes no difference (and anyway it was there in the 1.2.2 test installation.)
    Looking at wp_posts with phpMyAdmin, I can see that the trackback URL is saved in the field “to_ping” of the referring post, but it does not cause any pingback or trackback to show up in the referred post’s comments.

    Update: after adding xmlrpc.php, pingbacks do work; but trackbacks still do not.
