[Plugin: WP-Table] Can’t switch off alternating background colors !

No matter what I try, I can’t switch off the alternating background colors for table rows. I remove the flag in the table set-up but when I go back to check (“edit”), it is flagged again …… something seems to be over-riding any manual attempt to switch it off !
Help !!!
