just encountered once more that the settings.json is being overwritten from an update. kind of pity when added cpts and forgetting to set them manually again …
any option to get around this and save the settings somewhere to be preserved from being reset by updates again?

Hi, yes, you are right. The file is overwritten on update. My understanding was: One edits the settings.json locally and uploads manually via ftp. So, you would have an update on your local machine?

But, I understand, I wanted to have it simple without an Admin Panel. That is the disadvantage of my approach. I will have a look on available hooks in WordPress.

Hi, during testing for WP 6.3 I decided to keep this plugin as simple as possible: So, no admin panel is given. No settings are stored in the WP database. That was my intention. Unfortunately, you have to store your settings.json locally.

Update: After V1.5.0 the settings are saved and restored.
