• If it is of any interest, purely as a feature request, I actually run a version of OSM I have customised in small ways to adjust the appearance of the OSM widget. Not being a php/Wordpress developer I’ve probably done in badly but the functionality I was seeking was to make use of the OSM sidebar widget only on some posts (i.e. not show the widget on some posts that are geotagged) and to adjust the zoom level on a per post basis for the widget.

I implemented my customisations using custom fields. I added the OSM widget to the sidebar but in the OSM widget php, check for a custom field (e.g. “”showOSMwidget” to be set to ‘Y’) – no custom field or not set to ‘Y’ and the widget would not be displayed. Additionally, if the widget is to be displayed, if there is a custom field e.g. ‘OSMWidgetZoom’ then the value of that field would override the widget zoom level.

I use my customisations all the time and they are minor. I would be happy to provide the code but I’m sure you’d do a much better job and probably through a better mechanism. It’s more about whether you think they’d be useful for others.

As I say, happy to provide examples (my own website makes extensive use particularly the South America (Peru & Bolivia posts)) and happy to provide the code if helpful.

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

I tried that the other day (as well as the similar from the OSM sub-domain) and they both just stayed “sending” for an hour (literally) before I gave-up. (Safari on macOS, latest release versions).

As I say, I’m happy to show my code but I’m not a php developer (I’m C/C++/Objective-C) and it’s only a couple of “if” statements to adjust/override things and my code is probably pretty poor.

I appreciate this public forum is no way to exchange e-mail addresses (not with all the SPAMers out there) but if you are happy to, you could try and send my a contact e-mail through <https://psamathe.net/contact>
