• This is certainly the oddest problem I’ve ever encountered with my self-hosted WordPress installation.

Whenever I activate the last plugin in the plugin list, then attempt to publish (or preview) a post/page, I receive a blank page. The changes do save to the database, but the generated page contains no code.

I first assumed that this was a conflict with WordTube plugin, because I reactivated all of my plugins one by one.

However, after I uninstalled the WordTube plugin, now the WordPress Backup Plugin causes the conflict. Since WordTube initially appeared last (alphabetically) prior to uninstallation, I assumed it was a normal plugin conflict.

Now, the admin functions correctly when WordPress Backup plugin is deactivated, but on activation, it causes the same problem.

I’ve searched Google and WordPress extensively and can’t find any solution. I also reinstalled all of the core WordPress 2.8.4 files via FTP.

    Please help!

  • It sounds like 1 of your plugins is creating a problem but it may not be WordPress Backup. Could be another plugin higher up the list. You may need to do some trial & error deactivations/reactivations to try and pin down the culprit.

    Hi Esmi,

I’m going through and trying to find conflicts now. Definitely seems to be related to plugins.

Thanks for all your other posts throughout the forum. I’ve followed the directions in several of your other posts… All have been very helpful and knowledgeable.

I’ll let you know how things go!

    Hi Esmi,

When I disable the following three plugins, the admin seems to function correctly. The things that worry me are that for one, these are widely used, very popular plugins. All of which are compatible with the current version of WordPress.

Secondly, they are very important to my blog’s functionality. Can you think of anywhere I should start to begin finding out exactly what’s wrong with my site?

    DISABLED PLUGINS ARE:

    • Contact Form 7
    • Sociable
    • WordPress Database Backup

Now to complicate things a bit more. After reading a couple of your other posts, I tried switching from my current theme ‘Thesis’ back to the default theme. WordPress’ admin seems to function perfectly when ‘Default’ is the active theme.

Why would the current theme selected factor into the Admin’s functionality? I assumed the two were completely separate.
