In readibility analysis in Yoast SEO I am getting the message that “Subheading distribution: 1 section of your text is longer than 300 words and is not separated by any subheadings. Add subheadings to improve readability.” Eventhough my longest text between two headings is 197 words. What can I do to solve this issue? Thanks in advance

Without seeing the site, this bug was the first thing that came to mind.

    https://github.com/Yoast/YoastSEO.js/issues/2161

Can you confirm that the subheadings have a line break and removing the line break resolves the issue?

If not, please provide links to a few pages on your site that are not working.

thank you. I just sent you the url in a message.

Don’t even know where to start it as Yoast SEO does not give any indication which section contains a text longer than 300 words. If I put the text into Word, none of the sections with subheadings is longer than 300 words. All of the sections have H2 or H3 tags.

WordPress forums do not have a message system so I’m not sure where you sent the URL.

Please switch to the code/text view and look at the H2/H3 headings. To switch to code view in the block editor, click on the three dots then ‘Code Editor’ (screenshot). To switch to text view in the classic editor, click on the ‘Text’ tab.

A subheading without a line break looks like this:
<h2>Subheading With Multiple Words But No Line Break</h2>

A subheading with a line break looks like this:

    <h2>Subheading With Multiple Words
    That Contains a Line Break</h2>

After switching to the code/text view, do any of the subheadings (H2 or H3) contain line breaks? If you remove the line breaks, does the message about the text longer than 300 words go away?

Sorry, I just noticed your answer this morning. Yes. I think that must be the problem. After switching to the code/text view, the subheadings (H2 or H3) contain line breaks. However, I am using Elementor and it seems that the icon box works this way there. Not sure what can be the solution though?

I’ve just managed removing he line break. Now, it seems things are working fine.
In Readibility I still have two problems (red sign) though:
    (1) Flesch Reading Ease: The copy scores 49.9 in the test, which is considered difficult to read. Try to make shorter sentences, using less difficult words to improve readability.
    (2) Passive voice: 15.4% of the sentences contain passive voice, which is more than the recommended maximum of 10%. Try to use their active counterparts.

Do they affect my SEO? What should I aim for here as it is a fairly technical text containing technical terms and definitions that might seem heavy reading only for an outsider.
    Thanks for your help
