• So this plugin works for what i need it to. However, when you upload new documents, and attach a file, it just adds the file to the media library.

We also need to stop anyone from being to view the attached file within the media library. The files need to be more secure than this.

    Any ideas?

    Thanks,
    Kurt

    Hi Kurt,

We also need to stop anyone from being to view the attached file within the media library. The files need to be more secure than this.

Remember only those having access to your admin panel and with the correct privileges in your site would be able to view the media files. What type of security are you looking for?

    Thank you

This plugin isn’t secure at all. Read: https://www.ads-software.com/support/topic/php-dispatch-does-send-the-original-url-to-the-browser-2/

I can only advise you: Hands off!

Search for an other solution, if you need a secure solution.

@mbrsolution I do know that only users with access to the admin panel will be able to view these.

But our site is going to have upwards of 20 editors for various content around the site.

These downloads are going to be confidential so the editors having access to these within the media library are not really ideal.

Would there be any way to limit these files to be visible to only a specific user role?

We have a role type already setup for the confidential members.

Unfortunately at the present there is no feature in our plugin to manage user role capabilities. However there are many plugins in WordPress repository to help you with this. Here are two that I recommend.

    1) admin-menu-editor
    2) user-role-editor

Let me know if the above helps you.

    Thank you
