• Hi everyone to my first post!

Hi have been used WP since v1.5, and during the last years I have been using wp-db-backup or wp-dbmanager to get a daily copy of my DDBB in my mail.

Now I′m thinking about use export/import option, but I have 2 doubts:
-it′s a plugin to extend export to wp-option? (I haver read export doesn′t save plugins options)
-and the most important: it′s a way/plugin to do the export option to send me the xml file to a mail?

I have search, but I only found “cron view” plugin to add a cron job, but I′m not sure how to mix it with the export option.

Any ideas about if it′s possible??
anyone knows a pluging to do it?? (I have search it along plugings repositories, but i didn′t found anything)

    Cya!

  • My advice is to stick with the full database backup. Then if you have plugins with tables, those tables get backed up also.

I have tried to backup/restore the full database with mysql export/import.
The problem it′s always crash it (I backup from 2.1.2 and tried to restore in a local beta 2.8… I′m not sure if the codification can be the problem), and the only way to restore is from export/import option inside WP, so to don′t have problems in the future, I don′t want to use mysql :S

*NOTE: Don’t stop the backup plugins from emailing your database, unless you check with your host and find that they also backup your database(s).

What crashes? Is it the MySQL database restoration, or WordPress after you do the restore.

If you are using WordPress 2.1.2 at your site, then at your “local beta” computer, you are wanting to import to a 2.8 site, then the export/import via WordPress is the only way to do that. But if you were needing to do that everyday, that’s something else.

    Ok, it′s works…

…but itsn′t possible to export automatic every day?
