    You sure have a point. However, we don’t have any news on that at the moment.

    Right now, you can follow the workaround in the article you’ve mentioned or email all these contacts from your personal email instead of importing them, and ask them to join through a subscription form.

    Every other workaround has its drawbacks, though:
    – Stats for Welcome Email are not all in one place;
    – It adds bloat in the list of sent emails;
    – In our use case, people wrote down their email, acting as an agreement for us to subscribe them. But I reckon that a good part of them would omit/forget to subscribe if we sent them an email invitation to do so;
    – The Welcome Email serves as a bouncing test. We’re able to correct typos among subscribers with bounced Welcome Emails, so that when we send an actual Newsletter, we have the addresses right.
