I’ve never been successful with installing WordPress on my cPanel accounts. I’ve tried so many times and failed every time due to issues with the wp-content folder. I searched the web countless times looking for solutions. I learned a lot along the way but not how to fix my problem.

After the initial install, I am not able to upload images via wordpress. I receive “Unable to create directory” errors, which I fix by changing the owner/user of the “uploads” directory to “nobody:nobody” since apache is run under “nobody”. However, now, my images aren’t loading when I visit my site. They only load once I change the owner back to my default user.

What is the correct way to configure my installation so I can upload files and everything can load from the wp-content folder? I’ve tried changing everything to “nobody:nobody”.

How are other people installing WordPress on cPanel without this issue? Why does it seem like I’m the only one with this issue? I can’t find help on this issue with anything I search!

I am losing sleep over this issue! It’s been years and I’ve never had a successful installation of WordPress. I feel like a failure and appreciate any help!
