default-widgets problem

    Hello, I own three wordpress blogs. I have a problem twice a day all of them are getting error: Parse error: syntax error, unexpected ‘<‘ in /home/USER/domains/MyDomain.com/public_html/wp-includes/default-widgets.php on line 1034. If i upload new default-widgets sites are good, but after few hours i see error again. Where is the problem? 2.8.4 version.

  • Could be a bad plugin. That line should come right after the widgets initialization, so maybe one of them in throwing something. If all three run the same plugin that might give you a place to start.

    Feels more like a failed attempt at a hack to me, though, especially since my 2.8.4 default-widgets.php doesn’t even have a line 1034. The last line with code is 1032.

    A file should not go corrupt twice a day like that on three different blogs. Post the last few lines of your default-widgets as it reads while you get the error, before you replace the file.

    I found this thread https://www.ads-software.com/support/topic/311598?replies=2 . Deleted all iframes, then changed Ftp password. I hope it works…

    I got the same error in 7 sites with WP 2.8.x version.

    Parse error: syntax error, unexpected T_STRING, expecting ‘)’ in /home/XXXXXXXXXX/public_html/wp-includes/default-widgets.php on line XXXX

    Can you tell me about how to fix it for forever? And the same error will not appear again?
