Help re ‘referrer’ search stats shown on Jetpack
-
I have a query re the ‘Referrer’ search stats shown in Jetpack.
It is clear what ‘Search Engines’ is, and the traffic I get daily via this route is relatively steady at 9,000 – 11,000 page views.
However, under that we have ‘WordPress Android App’. I am not clear what this means.
When I click down it shows the bulk of views come from ‘https://android-app//com.google.android.googlequicksearchbox/https/www.google.com’ which I am GUESSING is the built-in Google search box on an Android phone.
However, THESE NUMBERS ARE ALL OVER THE PLACE.
Last Monday I had 679 views from this source. Yesterday I had 4,756. This is not a one-off – it always jumps around like this. This is despite the fact that traffic credited to ‘Search Engines’ remains static.
Can anyone help me get a handle on what is happening? Thanks.
