• Hi there,

I’m having an issue with form redirects.

If I submit a form, by clicking ‘Request Demo’ for example, it redirects to the correct page but then reloads continuously.

The issue seems to be a conflict with the Redirection plugin, because if I disable that Pardot works perfectly. I contacted the developer and he said:

I think you’ll need to investigate more about what is happening on that page. Redirection has no effect on the front end of a site, other than to perform a redirect from a URL that you have configured. If you have configured a redirect then it will perform that, otherwise it will do nothing and change nothing on the page.

At the moment when I test your site I only see the page being continually reloaded. I don’t think this is even a redirect, but just a page reload.

I don’t know why this would stop if Redirection is disabled, and it may be that this is just coincidental to whatever is triggering the reload.

I was wondering if you might have any idea why this is happening.

Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks!

It’s tough to debug this without knowing what redirects you have in place. I would look into both your existing redirects (using the plugin) _and_ see if you have the form in Pardot set to redirect.

If you’re not sure, can you link me to the page that is looping? Sounds like it would be the page you to go after clicking “Request Demo”.

    Thanks for your reply Cliff.

It happens even when all redirects in the plugin are disabled. I have the form set to redirect to the url in my original post in Pardot.

The easiest way to test it is to Request a demo (you can use a fake email). It redirects to the correct page however it then continuously reloads the page.

I was definitely able to replicate it—does it work correctly if you disable the Pardot plugin?

With the Pardot plugin disabled I can’t test the redirect obviously but navigating to the page it’s meant to redirect to does not cause any reloads.

Hi. Any thoughts? I swapped it out with Contact Form 7 just to test, set up a front end redirect on submit and it worked just fine.

So I’m really not sure what’s happening with the Pardot redirect.

    Thanks.

I recommend contacting Pardot support on this one. I’ve looked at it several times but can’t figure out what’s causing the redirect, although it seems to be triggered by the included Pardot tracking code.

Although the plugin implements this code, it doesn’t have any control over it or insight into it.

    Sorry I can’t be more helpful. :/

Not a problem. Thank you very much for your swift replies. I’ll contact Pardot support.

    Cheers.

Hi – Did you guys ever get any update on this from Pardot support? We just switched to Pardot plug in for our word press site and the forms load fine when we’re logged into the back end, but they do not work for a public site. I opened a case with Pardot, but lord knows how long that will take!

Was hoping you figured it out!

Yes I figured it out. Pardot support suggested this and it worked.

On the form inside Pardot, could you edit this and go to step 4?

There is an option to “always display form after submission” and was hoping you would be able to check that box off, save the form, and then try to submit again on the website to see if this prevents the looping from happening.

Hope it works for you too.

    Good luck.

Unfortunately — we already had that setting checked…because we’re actually popping up the form to fill out then submit, and not redirecting it to a new page. I changed it to redirect to a new page and that still doesn’t work. It’s like to pop up screen is causing an issue with the redirect….b/c it works when i’m logged in via the back end.
