    Hi,

    I seem to have an issue with a category on my blog, it displays a 404 message and to all the posts that fall under the category.

    I have checked and followed the instructions for the permalink and htaccess file and this hasn’t resolved the issue. I have also deactivated each plugin and there’s still an issue.

    I have checked the slug for this category and all looks fine.

    The inner side bar category links has also changed so the it appears as /category/category and not sure how this has happened.

    I’m not sure what the next steps are to fixing this

    Hi Lisa,

    I’ve looked at the most common causes of category links “breaking” and this seems to be the most common solution.

    I have now resolved this issue.

    There was an unused plugin that had an error message which was causing the category to “break”.

    Once I removed the plugin, the category was working again, but the posts were not displaying. To resolve this, I reset the permalinks and this resolved the issue.
