    Hi there,

While I’m having difficulty cross-referencing your findings on my site given the language difference, it’s important to note that attribute sorting is done under **Products > Attributes > YOUR ATTRIBUTE > Configure Terms** and then dragging & dropping them into place ??

then why is this https://prnt.sc/q63hqb sorting here?
sorting attributes works drag & drop, but not works in variations!

    Hi @makissm21

It appears you would like to change the variation menu order ( a combination of attributes ) rather than the order of the individual attributes. Rather than dragging and dropping, it appears you’re also manually changing the order number for each variation. If you do this, you’ll also have to change the number of any existing variation with that same menu order number.

For example: If you have three variations and change the first to 2 ( wanting to make it the second variation listed ), you’ll also need to manually change the existing 2nd variation to 1 or 4 so that there aren’t two variations with the same menu order number.

That said, if this still does not work change the ord on the front-end of the site, then it could be caused by aggressive caching from your web host or a problem caused by a theme or plugin conflict.

Try switching back to a default theme like Twenty Twenty and disable all plugins except for WooCommerce to see if this resolves the issue. Here is a link that better outlines that process:

    https://docs.woocommerce.com/document/woocommerce-self-service-guide/#section-4

If this fixes the issue, then re-enable each plugin one at a time, then the theme, until you find the one that’s causing the conflict.

    Hi there,

I have also noticed the product attributes are automatically sorted alphabetically for new products. I have always imported attributes via CSV, however they now seem to get sorted alphabetically and there doesn’t seem to be a way to change this.
We use attributes for ingredients, so it’s crucial they are displayed in the specified order (i.e. by amount) and not in alphabetical order.

The attribute’s sort order is set to “Custom ordering”, but unfortunately to no avail.

I would really appreciate any suggestions.

    Thank you!

    Cheers

    Hi again,

I have now changed Attribute 2 global to 0 and that seems to have fixed it – attributes are showing in the correct order again.

Hopefully this is of use to someone else.

    Cheers
    Clemens

I’ve been having this issue for months. I’ve got one pissed off client because of it

Anyone found the solution for this? My order is correct in Products > Attributes are correct and so is it one the variable product backend…
