Hi,

I’ve tried to find a solution to this and have looked through previous posts (1yr+ age) but I can’t get it to work.

I’m building a site that doesn’t require stock management of any kind so I disabled that in the main Inventory settings page.

I then created a variable product, set up an attribute (Size) and 4 terms (mini, small, midi, large), I made the attribute available for variations. In variations I created a entry for each of the 4 sizes and assigned prices (only, I don’t need weight or dimensions) and set the status to ‘In Stock’. Saved the product and viewed it. It always returns Out of Stock.

Why is this happening? and how can I fix it?

I’ve tried setting it up as a simple product first (with a base price) and then switching it to variable and double checking all the options and prices, but nothing seems to work.

That is strange! Can you please check if you have stock management enabled at the product inventory level, here’s the setting: https://d.pr/i/NR0djO

If you have it enabled, you can disable it and check if that helps.

If not, then can you send screenshots of the following:

Product Inventory setting
Variation setting
WooCommerce Inventory setting (under WooCommerce > Settings > Products > Inventory

Stock Management was turned off from the initial set up of the plugin.

Hi @paulhuckstepp ,

Thank you for sending the screenshots. Looking at the screenshot, I do not see any issue with the settings or anything obvious that would cause the variations to always be out of stock. I’m wondering if this is caused by a conflict coming from another plugin or theme.

Could you please send me a copy of your site’s System Status so I can see if there are any known conflicting plugins or issues I can spot? You can find it via WooCommerce > Status.
Select “Get system report” and then “Copy for support”. Once you’ve done that, you can paste it here.

Also, please note that the theme is my own built from scratch. And several of the plugins are my own (names start with DLynx) and I’ve never had any conflicts with those before.

Hi @paulhuckstepp ,

Thank you for sending the site status report. I do not see anything odd from the status report, and I’m not able to replicate this issue on my test site.

I suspect the issue is caused by conflict from one of the plugins or the theme.

I recommend following the steps here to test for a conflict: https://docs.woocommerce.com/document/how-to-test-for-conflicts/

If you prefer not doing the conflict test on the production site, then you can create a staging copy of it using WP Staging.

Please do a test for conflict and let me know if the issue persists even after conflict testing.

After carefully checking through my installed plugins I discovered that the WPML Translation Management plugin is causing the out of stock notification for variation products.

I’m in the process of contacting WPML to find a solution.
