• I am using the Storefront theme for my Woocommerce site. I have tried the plugin’s settings for enabling smart search in the default product search widgets. However, this has not helped the product search fields that come with this theme.

There is a search field in the header of Storefront. On the mobile version, there is also a search tool. Neither are incorporating smart search.

    The file called header.php has a line that says: * @hooked storefront_product_search – 40

I guess storefront_product_search is not affected by the plugin?

Thank you for your time and consideration.

    Quick clarification…

The placeholder text in the Storefront header field is unchanged. I did not see an immediate change in my search results, and I jumped to a conclusion that it too was unaffected, but this was my oversight. By further testing settings, I can see changes in the search results in the Storefront header search field.

However, I am still stuck regarding the placeholder text.

    Thank you.

    Hi,

The plugin can replace standard WordPress search bar and WooCommerce product search bar. Also you can create a custom widget and insert a shortcode in the header php file to replace theme’s search bar
