    Hello,

    Just after installing the plugin, I see that the “Toot on Mastodon” setting is unchecked in the new metabox of the post editor.

    Does that mean I’ll have to tick this setting for every new post for them to be published?

    No, there is a checkbox in the plugin settings. If activated the checkbox in the post editor is set by default.
