Shipping method ID length

Is there any necessity to have such long shipping method IDs like “shipmondo_shipping_gls_business”?
It becomes a problem when you are trying to pass it to an external API which has max length for the properties.
In my case it’s E-conomic API: https://restdocs.e-conomic.com/#post-products (productNumber prop with max length of 25 characters)
