    Hi everyone,

I noticed an issue with WP accessibility on all my websites: Since the latest wordpress update, the WP accessibility plugin prevents the option to open external links in new tabs. The problem is, I need external links to open in new tabs but I also need the WP accessibility plugin since my blogs are literally all about disability and accessibility. For now, I have deactivated the plugin, but would love to use it again in the future.

    Best,

    Karina

WP Accessibility removes the ‘target’ attribute from links to prevent links from triggering a new tab. This is an option, however, and can be disabled. If you disable it, just make sure that the text of links that open in new tabs states that fact clearly.
