[ redundant link removed, use the link field ]

    This is my WordPress site.
I have Google Site Kit plug-in installed.
This is my first try to add adsense ads to this site.
I’m fully signed up in my google account.
Analytics, search console and Tag Manager etc are all working fine.

Adsense verification fails every time, telling me my site needs attention.
It says the problem is “We couldn’t find the code on your site. ”

This is the code it tells me to add……
    <script data-ad-client="ca-pub-5450727810667210" async src="https://pagead2.googlesyndication.com/pagead/js/adsbygoogle.js"></script>

But I CAN see this code on my page when I look in page source – assuming this is added by Site Kit?
    <meta name="generator" content="Site Kit by Google 1.1.4" /><script data-ad-client="ca-pub-5450727810667210" async src="https://pagead2.googlesyndication.com/pagead/js/adsbygoogle.js"></script>

So i’m very confused as to why Adsense cannot find my code?

I have detailed my problem over on the Adsense community, but an expert sent me here looking for help.
    https://support.google.com/adsense/thread/23447740?hl=en

Any help or thoughts would be very much appreciated.

    Thank you.

Side note to @zarch1972 Use the link field, it’s there for a reason. When you ignore that and post your link that way it may come up as a problem for the spam filter.

Apologies Jan……. got carried away detailing the problem… didn’t see the link box. Sorry.

@zarch1972 After checking your sites source code I can also see the required ad code placed. Unfortunately we only assist with Site Kit plugin support and don’t have access to the AdSense platform, so what you’ve already done by contacting the AdSense Help Center is correct.

If you want to troubleshoot further I would suggest removing any existing ad code and let Site Kit place the ad code for you (Site Kit place Auto ads code) using the setting you see here.

I can see a few different Tag Manager containers used on your site, if you have any plugins to insert such containers you should be able to check again after disabling those plugins.

    Hi James,

    Thank you for replying.

I noticed that i’d also got the code inserted by ‘insert headers and footers; plugin, so I removed that.

But now even though i’ve got ‘let sitekit place your code’ slider enabled I can no longer see any code when looking at source.

I’ve purged cloudflare cache just in case.

But curiously, when I now go back into site-kit plugin, the ‘let sitekit place your code’ slider has turned back to off. Like its failed to insert the code and turned itself off.

Now i’m not sure this has anything to do with why adsense can’t find the code (which was there by using insert headers and footers)….. but strange nonetheless.

@zarch1972 That is strange with the setting reverting. Can you try enabling from another browser with other plugins temporarily deactivated before checking again? Once you confirm the setting is applied I can also check your site to ensure the required code snippet has been correctly placed.

Weird, must have been a one off James.

Enabled switched seems to be staying on now.
Although despite the plug in showing “The AdSense code has been placed on your site” I don’t see the code on my site.

Any thoughts on anything to check why? Any logs?

    Thanks.

@zarch1972 I can see the ad code on your site now, placed via Site Kit. All looks good from my side, can you confirm you can see the code placement?

    Hi @jamesosborne ,

Yes, can confirm the code is now there…. not sure what the problem was, but all looking good now, thank you.

Sadly, even atfer resubmitting to Adsense AGAIN, it still says it can’t find my code. I’m baffled by this!!

@zarch1972 When you access your AdSense account on the left hand side under “Sites” does it state your site is ready to show ads? You can use the Google Publisher Toolbar and check if your site is recognised there also.

Thanks for getting back to me @jamesosborne

No, in adsense account the site goes away for review, then comes back and says the code can’t be found. Please place the code.

As per the thread on the adsense community i’ve done this lots of times now after making various changes.

    https://support.google.com/adsense/thread/23447740?hl=en

So my site is currently not ready to serve ads.

Do you know how to get help from the adsense experts on that community?
My call/thread just seems to get ignored. The expert seem eager to reply to the easy posts for a quick fix within minutes, but I feel like i’m getting overlooked.

    Cheers, Mick
PS. Tried the publisher toolbar, I could connect it to my adsense account, but it just brought back empty values to display. Which would make sense as my site isn’t ready to display anything.

@zarch1972 I can see some 403 ads related errors on your website when checking for console errors. Unfortunately while we would like to assist as it’s an AdSense related issue you would have to use the AdSense Help Center which which you have been using.
