Forgotten Login and Password. Trying to close the webite down

I previously was the administrator for a website using wordpress. The company contacted me and wanted my help to shut the website down. I do not have the login and password information anymore as it was a few years ago. The company cannot find this either. Can someone help advise me who or how I can shut the website down. Or get into the wordpress account and then put under construction or the company has shut down. I know when the domain is renewed and we don’t pay it, it will shut the website down for us. Thanks
