PDF and Fast Web View Feature

    I am using MU 2.8.4a.

    My site provides users with a fair amount of large sized PDF files.

    I have noticed that when trying to download the PDF files, wordpress seems to ignore the Fast Web View feature of the PDF files.

    For those not familiar with the Fast Web View setting in a PDF file, on a large pdf file, it allows the user to view the first few pages of the document while the rest of the document is still downloading.

    This is a very important feature. A user will not wait 30 secs or more for a file to download with no indication the file is actually downloading. The Fast Web View not only lets the user start reading the document before it is downloaded, but is also and indication that the download is working.

    At any rate WordPress seems to ignore the Fast Web View feature and insists on downloading the entire document before it shows any of the document.

    Does anyone know of a plugin or hack or have any other solution to make this work correctly?
