    Hi,

I moved the copy of the site to another domain to run some tests on it. Initially deleted all the users on the copied domain. But strangely the paid members are deleted on the main domain as well. and all the paid (stripe and check) members are auto registered on both sides few seconds after removal. and the worst part is that stripe canceled the subscriptions of all paid members, which cannot be corrected.

How does an action at a domain would affect the users at another one? Is there any way to prevent it from happening? Would it be without an issue if I have deleted the membership levels or gateway api first?

    Hi @kusatra

Thank you for using Paid Memberships Pro, I’m truly sorry to hear about this issue you are facing.

Migrating sites to a test site will still affect real data linked on your live site as the user’s subscriptions, emails and the connection to your payment gateway (from Paid Memberships Pro to Stripe) is still connected.

We are working on an update to try and figure things out if user’s move over to a staging site to make this as clear as possible. What you need to do is the following:

    1. Remove your payment gateway settings or change the details to sandbox.
    2. Use the Developer’s Toolkit to scrub data so user’s won’t receive emails and their subscriptions won’t be affected – https://www.paidmembershipspro.com/add-ons/pmpro-toolkit/

I am truly sorry about this and we are planning to implement a solution to this.

    Hi Andrew,
Thanks for your reply. I should have been more cautious. I totally forgot the gateway connection for the paid users. I will follow the steps you mentioned next time.
