Showing all published content for post type?

This plugin is working great for inserting individual content into a page, which of course is what it’s intended for. However, I have a slightly different scenario, and I’m wondering if its possible with this plugin.

Homepage
– Has shortcode to include all content
[insert page=’custom_post_type_slug’ status=’published’]

Custom Post Type
– Post 1 (Published)
– Post 2 (Published)
– Post 3 (Draft)
– Post 4 (Published)

I would really like the ability to display multiple entries from a specific custom post type, specifically all of the ones that are published. This would allow the custom post type content to be swapped out automatically, without having to update the homepage. I could add Post 5 and publish it, and it would automatically be added to the homepage.

Am I correct in saying this option is not available currently? And if so, is it something that could be done? If it is something that could be done with this plugin, I may try and code it on my end (I’m relatively new to PHP code–so no promises!).
