Limit search queries to the category in my list?

    When I use search – it searches all categories – instead of what is on my list view – How do I only limit search queries to the category in my list?

    Hi Jomo,

    In your table’s settings > Navigation > create a ‘Category Filter’ element and a ‘Search’ element. Now, the search element will limit the search results to the category selected in the Category Filter.     WCPT PRO offers a special product search shortcode that you can place anywhere on your site including in the widgets area. This search box has a category dropdown on it so that user can target the search to a particular category if they wish. Please view the search doc for more info on this. When the user conducts a search via this input box they are taken to the archive page for that product category on your site and the search results are limited to that category.

    You can use the archive override facility in WCPT PRO which lets you replace the product grids on your shop / search / category pages with product tables of your choice.

    The result is that the user’s search results are displayed in a table, on the category page they selected, and limited to that category only.
