WP Text Ads Error Fix OR Alternate to WP Text Ads?

  • I’m using WP Text Ads [https://www.wptextads.com/] and it’s choked on me — it’s giving me an error instead of loading my advertiser list.

    (Please don’t judge, text links give me much needed cash. And they’re marked as ads.)

    It looks like this tool hasn’t been supported for some time, the forum goes to a Russian site (not helpful) and the latest post on the blog is from 07, but I sure would like to get this thing working again. If there’s no sensible fix, I’d love to know of an alternative. Any suggestions on either front? NOT TLA, that’s a third party solution, I’m looking for a direct from the blogger set up. Yes, I can hand code my links if need be, but I have liked the auto-management of this tool.

  • Please provide us with the errors you are getting as well as the version of the plugin you have installed.

    Any issues we have had since the 3.5.0 release are mostly related to one of 2 things

    1: You have not reentered your site key. With the WP release we could not include your custom site key. If you download the plugin from the text-link-ads.com site, we include your site key in the installation.
    To update your site key simply goto Settings-> Text Link Ads and enter in your site key which you can find logged into text-link-ads.com via the publisher list sites view.

    2: We have seen issues where people have used Home page only and their installation of WP doesn’t adhere to is_front_page or is_home being true when going to the homepage. change the Widget from Homepage only to site wide resolves this issue, or figure out why your site is not returning is_home or is_front_page on the homepage.

    There is no meaningful error message. In the box where I should see my advertisers, I see this text: An error has occurred, please try again.

    Please note — this error is NOT for text-link-ads.com. My errors are in WP Text Ads.
