• Hi,

I’ve not been able to find a proper solution to the following:

I have a photo blog where I have two parent categories:
    Trees
    Plants

They both grow leaves, flowers, etc, so I want to have a subcategory like:
    Flowers
    Leaves

    Not a problem:
    Trees\Flowers
    Trees\Leaves

    Problem:
    Plants\Flowers
    Plants\Leaves.

The latter wil create new and unique categories, so when I go to category “Leaves” I will only see the first created category, as the Plants\Leaves has been created uniquely and separately from the first one.

I need a subcategory to be recyclable so that it can have more than one parent.

    How do I achieve this?

Will WordPress include this in a coming version?

    Regards
    Morten Ross

  • Here’s an ugly workaround:

So far it seems the only workaround is to first create a duplicate category with a different name/slug, setting it to the child of whatever category. Then after it is created, it is possible to edit it and change the name at that point to be a duplicate name/slug.

Along these same lines….if I have the following categories

    Xbox
    -Controllers
    -Games

    PS3
    -Controllers
    -Games

When I go to apply a category for a post I see this…
    Controllers
    Controllers
    Games
    Games
    PS3
    Xbox

If my article is a review about Xbox Controllers…..how am I supposed to know which is which??? Any fix for this??
