    Hello,

I believe i’ve identified a problem where jetpack soehow conflicts with kingposer editor. i’ve literally disabled all of my plugins and ran wordpress without cache after reinstalling it.

The problem appears only when i enable jetpack. it disapears when i disable it. The issue is i’m unable to select images from the media library when kingposer is in use while jetpack is active. that does present a problem for me because the authors are used to it and this problem never appeared until recently.

    Please…i would like your help.

Also id like to add that the problem with selecting images through the meadia library appeared 5 days ago when we updated jetpack to the latest version. Kingcomposer was last updated two months before.

    Hi there,

That’s an issue that the KingComposer authors need to look into as this is not an issue that’s affecting jetpack’s operation.

your update caused the analomy tho. That suggests no responsibility on your part? if you look at my history there are a number of conflicts jetpack caused that your engineers were happy to fix or work with the plugin author to fix. of course these were pulgins in widespread use like this one.

    i didnt expect this response.

What is the URL of the site with the problem, and what version of PHP are you running?

@macmanx Hi there, i’m using php 7.3 on https://isscreenprinters.com. I just reactivated jetpack for you to see whats going on.

Yeah, I don’t see anything outright there that would be broken.

Could you try switching off your Jetpack Modules one-by-one via https://jetpack.com/support/control-jetpack-features-on-one-page/ to see if it’s one in particular causing this?

Thank you for suggesting that. I went through and tried turning off every option to find that the setting “Write posts or pages in plain-text Markdown syntax” causes the bug between kingcomposer and Jetpack. Leaving it off Kingcomposer functions perfectly.

I don’t know if the issue is on the KC side or JP side. It could be that both are working as designed and turning on that option breaks KC because thats precisely what it is supposed to do.

If it is a defect on the JP side what is the solution?

Thanks for checking that. However, that doesn’t make any sense. There has been no changes to the markdown module in either Jetpack 8.1 or 8.1.1, and even if there were, that module does not do anything that touches the media library, so I don’t see how it could prevent any other plugin from accessing the media library.

I see you’ve also posted in the Kingcomposer forum, but it doesn’t look like they answer support requests there, else I’d suggest let’s wait and see what they say.

I do see they have a Helpdesk link at the bottom of their plugin page at https://www.ads-software.com/plugins/kingcomposer/, so perhaps try reaching out to them there instead.
