Redirection issues

I am having redirection issues, I have set up a page where I don’t want people to access it with the exception of the roles approved in the page WP Private Content Plus – Restriction Settings. I have chosen “Visibility” and checked the “Allowed User Roles” one of which is the custom role I have set up. I have then set the redirection URL to go elsewhere if a user goes to this url without the correct role. On testing it seems to be buggy and sometimes won’t let a user access it despite having the correct user role, it then redirects them to the redirection URL.

Is there any reason this would be happening?
