[Plugin: Hierarchical Pages Widget] exclude pages

I’m working on a site that will be using WP as a CMS. I want a widget that shows the hierarchy of page navigation, but only expanded submenus for the page currently shown. The Hierarchical Pages Widget plugin does what I want, and very nicely, except there are no settings to exclude pages. There are certain pages that must remain hidden, but are not password-protected. If this plugin worked with something like Pagemash that would be nice, but it doesn’t.

Can someone either point me to another plugin that already does what I want, or help me to modify the hierarchical pages plugin?
