Blog Posts Not Loading Second Page

  • Hi,

    This is a very recent problem and it is driving me insane trying to fix.
    All my plugins are up to date, Jetpack upto date and my theme is all updated too.

    When I load my blog post page, and then go to the second page – link above – it is still slowing my first page of results. Even going to something like the 12th page, is stuck on the first page.

    Any advice on how to correct this?

  • Hey @louisehunt,

    You should be able to find some clues during you perform the following steps.

    It would be great if you can follow the standard debugging process of disabling all the active plugins one by one and checking if the issue is resolved. If you find an issue in one of the plugin then you should report this issue to them so that it can be fixed.

    If it does not, you could also try checking after changing the theme to a standard theme like TwentyTwenty, TwentiNineteen etc. If the issue is with the theme I would recommend contacting your Genesis child theme author about the same.

    what is the code of your template in /templates/blog.php?

    have you made any edits to that template or your theme?

    have you asked the developer of your theme for help?

    This is usually a widget in the sidebar or something extra the theme does (like Related posts), that messes up the original query so that the pagination links are incorrect. Removing that extra stuff (by disabling things) identifies the culprit.

    Hi @alchymyth – I’ve reached out to the developer because nothing I’ve been able to take away and reintroduce has been able to solve this glitch.

    @joyously – all of the widgets I have, I’ve eliminated and reintroduced without any solution.

    The only thing I’ve done recently is update my PHP to 7.0
