Hi,

I’v just created a new site and installed it in a new domain & hosting.

I have used Redirection plugin many times for many site I am administrator with success.

But, today, I have a problem with this new project…the redirections doesent work, I have tested many syntax without succes :

– https://leboisdelutopie.wordpress.com/photos/ needs to be redirected to https://www.leboisdelutopie.com/, (so /photo/ to the index (https://www.leboisdelutopie.com/) in the plugin).

Verification (in french) :

Vérifier la redirection pour : https://www.leboisdelutopie.com/photos/
Attendu (wait) : 301 vers https://www.leboisdelutopie.com/
Trouvé (find) : %(code)d vers %(url)s
Agent: Utilisant Redirection (Agent : using Redirection

It’s ok for that, but when I go to this page directly or in the search engine, the redirection doesn’t work and stay in the old wordpress.com..

– How configuring the plugin when there are 2 urls with the file name ? for example :
https://leboisdelutopie.wordpress.com/contact/ and https://www.leboisdelutopie.com/contact/

Because the redirection doesnt work again (in french) :

Attendu (wait) : 301 vers https://www.leboisdelutopie.com/contact/
Trouvé (find): 200
Agent: N’utilisant pas Redirection (Agent : don’t use Redirection)

Which site is Redirection installed on? You have two domains on two servers there. What is the redirect you have created?

The new and final site is : https://www.leboisdelutopie.com/
I have installed Redirection in it.

The old is : https://leboisdelutopie.wordpress.com/

So there are : 2 different servers for 2 differents domains (differents for each)

Some Redirections I have configured for the examples : https://www.leboisdelutopie.com/wp-includes/images/support/redirections.png

Ok, but you can’t redirect a URL from another server. You can either do the redirect on the other server, or map the other domain to your current server.

You will need to change the DNS of your domain to point at your current server. I couldn’t say how you do it specifically.

Seeing as your old domain is on wordpress.com I very much doubt you can change the DNS. You will need to use the other option, of performing the redirect on wordpress.com

The new domain (Gandi https://www.gandi.net/fr) still pointing to the new hoster (o2switch https://www.o2switch.fr/)

Ok, I don’t know how that changes things. This is not related to Redirection anymore.
