Working on company website today I noticed the calendar was missing. I did a little investigating and found an error message saying it had been deactivated. When I try to reinstall it tells me it can’t because the destination folder already exists.
    What are my next steps?

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

    Hi @achihakpoff

    Thanks for reaching out!

You will need to manually delete the plugin folder on the server.
Log in to your server via FTP or SSH.
    Browse to the ‘wp-content/plugins’ folder.
    Delete ‘the-events-calendar’ folder totally.
After this you should be able to reinstall The Events Calendar.

Note, your events will not be lost. That is saved in the database.

    Hope this helps.
    Cheers,
    Andras

How do I do that when I have a page hosted at GoDaddy with WordPress?
You are speaking gobbledeegook to me. Can I find this from the WordPress dashboard?

I just talked to my hosting provider and this will run into a lot of cost because I don’t know how to do it and am hesitant to do it in a live site.

    Now here is the thing:
I have a staging site with the exact same platform and plugins as on the live site and the Calendar works well there. My provider tells me your plugin is not compatible with PHP 7.

I would very much appreciate any help!

    Hi @osnicky59

I’m really sorry for the late reply. Do you still need assistance with the issue?

Our plugins are compatible with php 5.6 and anything above that, so PHP 7 as well.

If you / your hosting provider can provider further information about the error or the cause of the deactivation and why they think we are not compatible with PHP 7, we will be happy to look at it.

I just saw your other thread where you mentioned that you switched to a different plugin.

I’m sorry that we failed you in helping you solve this issue.

    Good luck with your project!
