Creating a product compare website based on a database

  • I am searching for a WordPress plugin/theme which is able to show customized views to a database containing products and their details. I am thinking about a filter section in the upper area where the user can apply different filters like color, size, or weight.
    Below the filter section I would like to see the datbases’s entries which do match the users filter.

    This may function like this website:

    Is there any theme or plugin which is able to interact with the database and to view the content as described above?

    Background:
    I am having dataset of products. They are located in a Database. The first approach was to use a shop-theme. But most of the shop systems cannot use product information directly from a database and adding the products by hand is no option. Furthermore most shop systems use a cart, which I do not need.

    Given that your database is something of your own, this seems like you’d need to build a custom plugin. If you’re not a code, you’ll need to hire a developer. We recommend using jobs.wordpress.net or jetpack.pro. I recommend going to a local WordPress meetup and seeing if you can find someone local to do it.

    Sorry for the delay and thank you very much for that hint. You were right, that stuff needed to be coded. I managed it now to work pretty fine by a self written php-script.
