• Hello,

First of all, great plugin! I’m running a site with a few thousands of forum posts and 50+ active plugins. I changed several options on my plugins in bulk edit mode. There are now 90+ rules applied to any page/post. Whenever I exit Test Mode, in combination with WP Rocket, the CPU usage jumps through the roof, and all my php-fpm threads are eating all the CPU cores, and as a result, the site becomes unresponsible. Any ideas how to solved this?

    Thank you!

@lbandy I’m glad you like the plugin and hopefully we’ll solve your problem with the CPU usage. First, is it a significant difference between the CPU usage when you’re in “Test Mode” and the usage after you go live with the plugin changes? Is it far from 100%?

Asset CleanUp obviously does take (depending on the website) in average between 0.1 and 0.2 seconds (if you have lots of assets and a large HTML source) to process everything (that’s why it’s recommend to use a caching engine/plugin with it). After the combine/minify CSS/JS cached files are generated, it should take less to alter the HTML output.

Also, is your website having lots of traffic (e.g. ten of thousands of visitors a day)? Can you send me your “System Info” from “Tools” (plugin menu) privately (since it contains sensitive data) via https://gabelivan.com/contact/.

PS: There was a similar issue recently related to the CSS optimisation when the CPU usage rose to 100% because of a circular reference error (@import was used in a CSS file that included the same file resulting in an endless loop when it was processed via the PHP script). Perhaps you’re having the same issue (and you’re using an older version of Asset CleanUp): https://www.ads-software.com/support/topic/plugin-crashes-website-and-uses-massive-cpu-power-for-php/
