• This is problably a really simple error, but for some reason I can’t spot what’s wrong. I manually upgraded to 2.8.4, and everything works perfectly, aside from the text editor. As you can see from the screengrab, you can make/edit entries, but the editor doesn’t load, and you have to highlight text to see it. The subject line works okay. If you toggle to HTML, there is the same problem. Because I uploaded manually, is there a chance I’ve simply missed out a filed? Does anybody know which one it could be? I had a look through but couldn’t see anything I’d missed.

I deactivated my plugins, but still the same issue, and it’s the same in other browsers. Any thoughts? Is there something extremely simple I’ve done wrong?

  • Hey paintinglies, and others

I have the exact same issue. I posted without problems just 4 days ago, and as far as I recall the only upgrade I have made was the SEO plugin, which I have tried to deactivate without any luck.

The toolbar in the “post” is also missing a few options, one of them being a button for NexGen gallery.

I haven’t made any changes to the default files.

    Help please ??

    Have you tried:

    – switching to the default theme to rule out any theme-related problems?

resetting the plugins folder by FTP or phpMyAdmin? Sometimes, an apparently inactive plugin can still cause problems.

    – reading https://www.ads-software.com/support/topic/279132?

    – disabling Google Gears if you have that running/installed within Firefox?

I’ve fixed it now, I went here and followed the instructions about clearing my browser cache: https://www.ads-software.com/support/topic/279132?replies=100

I did this for all browsers. This got the text editor to appear correctly, but I was instead getting a ‘function’ error across the top of every page on my dashboard. I googled it and found this topic: https://www.ads-software.com/support/topic/278585?replies=50

Look for the user MichaelH, their response is really helpful – I downloaded the file and overwrote my http.php file with the new one, and now the errors are gone. Hope it works for you too. ??
