Download Stats While Using Flightbox

I noticed while enabling download stats that this only works/records when a user clicks on the download “arrow” at the bottom of the Flightbox window. The plugin does not record if the user clicks on, what appears to be a native menu, the download icon at the top right-hand corner of the Flightbox window. Is there a solution for this, possibly removing the native navigation links from the top window?
