WPML incompatibility?

Hi, working with this theme for a client (he has the FreeNews Pro plugin installed too) on a multilingual site using WPML, I notice that the second language homepage has an issue that does not occur on the first (default) language homepage.

WPML is configured with two languages where the default (French) homepage is on /fr/ and the alternate language homepage on /en/

Normally, the Flash News / Main Banner / Highlighted Category items are aligned quite nicely in three columns of (roughly, it varies one or two pixels per slide item) the same height. But on the secondary language homepage, these columns are of completely different height. The blocks left and right are different height and the center slider items each are different too.

Is there a script that crops the images that only gets included on the home (blog) page of the default language? Any way to force that on the alternate language blog page?
