Double Opt-in issue

Hi all.
I have enabled the “Double Opt-in” but I have a problem:
When I subscribe the newsletter, the email with the request for confirmation of activation arrives correctly but the user is already “Signed up” and not in “Not Confermed” status.
The sending test working.Also, the “Welcome e-mail” is never sent (with or without “Double Opt-In”)
Can you help me?
