404 — File not found

    Hi!

    We are having problems with uploaded files where the filename has Swedish or non-latin characters. The files are uploaded and I can see them on the server. The link is correct from the admin application to the file. But when trying to open the browser responds:
    “404 — File not found.”

    The server accepts Swedish characters. Images have “???” in them work fine. Since the files are not accessible without being logged into WP admin I thought something must be wrong.

    If I upload a document with any name (even correct ones) by FTP the result is the same, “404 — File not found.”

    I’ve temporarily solved the problem by adding code to functions.php that change characters to latin instead. But not all characters have fallback.
