    Hi,

I joined my current company a couple of months ago and have never edited our secondary website as there has been no need. We went to edit the website, but realised we only have editor access to it and have lost the owner/admin access with an old employee who left the company a while back. Is there any possibility to regain access as an owner/admin of the website? We have proof of domain ownership as well as login access to the website through our editor account.

Since we only have editor log in we cannot see the other users who have access to the account.

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

    Check/Change Password, Username:
    – The password is encrypted and stored in the database in the users table. To reset password, review https://www.ads-software.com/support/article/resetting-your-password/
    – Username is also stored in the users table. To change username, click the edit button (the pencil icon) next to your user and change what is entered into the user_login field.

Backup: If you haven’t already done, always backup everything (including your database) before doing any actions, just in case something really goes wrong. You can never have enough backups! See https://www.ads-software.com/support/article/wordpress-backups/

    Thank you for your reply,

Sadly it will not help as we are not sure what the original login email was for the webpage.

Is there a way to see what email addresses that are connected with the account?

You can update the admin email for your site in the wp_options table, and replace the email address in the row with the key “admin_email”. Review : https://www.wpbeginner.com/beginners-guide/how-to-change-the-wordpress-admin-email/

    Thanks!

I followed the link, went to our C panel and then to the manage WP to locate the emails currently in use for the account. Gained access to the website by changing the password for one of the users and then managed to add admin access.
