    Hey,

    i installed wordfence a few month ago and now want to set the name of the sql tables back to normal – at the moment there is a prefix i think generated by wordfence.

    how can i make this undo?

  • Hi @fredel,

    Wordfence pulls the database prefix directly from WordPress.

    You can change the prefix by following these steps:

    1. Edit the prefix from wp-config.php ($table_prefix = 'your_new_prefix_';)
    2. Go to Wordfence -> Tools -> Import/Export Options
    3. Click on Export Wordfence Options
    4. Save the key
    5. Go to Wordfence -> All Options -> Search for delete
    6. Check the option Delete Wordfence tables and data on deactivation
    7. Deactivate Wordfence, reinstall Wordfence
    8. Go to Wordfence -> Tools -> Import/Export Options
    9. Copy + paste the key from step 4

    Your tables should now have the new prefix, and your options should be untouched from Wordfence. (You can skip steps 2-7 if you don’t care about saving your Wordfence settings)

    Hi @fredel,

    We haven’t heard back from you in a while, so I’ve gone ahead and marked this thread as resolved.

    Please feel free to open another thread if you’re still having issues with Wordfence.

    Thanks,

    Gerroald
