With 1.8.2 images not loading

Me three.

Upgraded to 1.8.2, tried my best to purge each and every cache, tried with different browser. Just empty white where the pictures used to be.

Here’s what one image looks like now:

Same here. I had to downgrade to 1.8.0. Both 1.8.1 and 1.8.2 have the same issue .

How do you do the downgrade? I’d like to do that as well, but don’t know how?

Ok, I somehow got it to work. Might be that there was some interference with W3 Total Cache.

With the previous version it seems I had the lazy loading feature enabled on W3 Total Cache. After the upgrade (and there was a W3 Total Cache upgrade as well), the pictures disappeared.

These are my steps:

– Disable shortpixel plugin (purge all caches) and verify that pictures show up.
– Disable W3 Total Cache lazy loading (purge all caches)
– Enable shortpixel (purge all caches)

Now it seems to work and the img srcs point to cdn.shortpixel.ai as expected!

I don’t have lazy loading enabled in W3 Total Cache. You can download previous versions of the plugin from https://www.ads-software.com/plugins/shortpixel-adaptive-images/advanced/ at the bottom of the page look for “Previous Versions”

I think it is probably due to the combination of W3 Total Cache, but every time I load up 1.80 the problem goes away, so I’m not sure what I need to do to properly fix this.

I’m using WP Rocket and testing 1.8.2 with every option and nothing helps. I also disabled WP Rocket and also the images all disappear…

We have seen cases where the problem relies on the query strings being deactivated.

So, the problem should be solved if

1) you flush your website’s cache. Please do it in this order:
– Cache plugins (WP Rocket, LiteSpeed Cache, SG Optimizer…)
– Server cache (SiteGround, Bluehost…)
– CDN cache (Cloudflare, StackPath…). Please do it from your CDN’s dashboard, not through your cache plugin or hosting dashboard.
– Browser cache (Chrome, Firefox, Edge, Safari…)

2) you make sure that query strings are not deactivated. Or, if you must have them deactivated, make sure the latest version of your Javascript files is cached.
